Products
The product register is the master data for the whole shop section. Sales, purchases, and stock adjustments all refer to entries here, so it is worth filling in properly before you start recording transactions.

What it holds
- Product name and enough detail to tell it apart from similar items
- Current cost, which the system updates when you record purchases
- Sale price
- Quantity on hand, which moves with sales and adjustments
- A low-stock alert point
Setting the low-stock point
Set it to the level at which you should start reordering, not the level at which you run out — allow for how long the supplier takes. Items from slow suppliers deserve a higher alert point than ones you can get tomorrow.
What it costs
Free — no Points or Credits are consumed.

Can I edit cost by hand?
Yes, though letting the system derive it from purchases usually tracks reality better.
What about discontinued products?
Keep them in the register so past sales still reference them correctly.
